Overview

Designed an AI avatar platform enabling users to chat, call, and interact with digital personas. As the sole UX designer, I led end-to-end design—from defining the product experience to building scalable dashboards that balance engagement, clarity, and monetization.

Challenges

Users lacked clarity on usage limits and plan restrictions

  1. No clear “home base” after login

  2. Confusion between exploration vs. monetization

  3. Needed to drive upgrades without breaking trust

Design principle

Every screen answers a decision.
(“What can I do next?” / “Am I within limits?” / “What changed?”)

The Problem

After login, users struggled to understand their current state: usage, limits, and next actions, leading to friction in engagement and hesitation in upgrading.

Users struggled to understand:

  • what they’ve used (minutes/sessions)

  • what’s gated by plan

  • what to do next (create / manage / talk / upgrade)

Goals

Build confidence in account status and plan

  • Enable quick avatar management (library mindset)

  • Provide clear visibility into usage and limits

  • Support decision-making (continue, upgrade, manage)

Design Methodology

I focused on decision-driven design—ensuring every screen answers a key user question like:

  • “Can I keep going?”

  • “Am I within limits?”

  • “What should I do next?”

Mapped high-frequency scenarios to prioritize flows like usage checks, avatar access, and upgrades.

Structured the platform into a clear, scalable system with a central dashboard and supporting modules for avatar management, analytics, and monetization.
